The conference kicked off with a keynote by Sundar Pichai, who recapped the tech giant’s progress to date and charted the course for the coming years. A key element of this new strategy is full synergy across hardware, software, and advanced language models. Google is no longer treating artificial intelligence as a standalone feature or a novelty – it is becoming the invisible architecture that binds all the company’s services together, from operating systems to daily information retrieval.

The biggest technological highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Gemini 3.5 model family. This new generation boasts a drastic performance leap, significantly lower response latency, and an unprecedented context window capable of simultaneously processing massive data volumes, entire codebases, or hours of video footage. Debuting alongside it was Project Gemini Omni – an advanced, natively multimodal system built for real-time interaction. Omni seamlessly merges smartphone camera analysis with a user’s vocal inflection, responding with the fluidity of a natural human conversation. The model can instantly translate live discussions, describe the user’s surroundings, or help troubleshoot complex engineering tasks recorded live through the lens.

Google is rolling out the most radical overhaul to its search engine since its inception. The traditional list of blue links is stepping aside for advanced, AI-driven overviews. The search engine can now tackle incredibly complex, multi-step queries. Instead of typing in several separate searches, a user can ask the system to build a comprehensive, personalized workout plan for someone with specific injuries, while factoring in local gyms and recipes. The AI will independently scour the web, verify sources, and present a cohesive, finalized report.

Deep integration with Gemini 3.5 has also hit the Google Workspace suite. Tools like Docs, Sheets, Gmail, and Slides are gaining a smart sidebar with vastly expanded capabilities. The artificial intelligence can automatically analyze hundreds of email threads, draft precise summaries of multi-page spreadsheets, and independently generate business presentations based on a user’s loose notes, all while maintaining the proper tone and formatting.

For software creators, Google has prepared a host of streamlined features within its developer ecosystem. Programmers are getting access to more efficient and cost-effective APIs built on the Gemini 3.5 architecture. New tools were introduced for automated code debugging, smoother Android app optimization, and the secure deployment of on-device AI models without the need for constant data transfers to the cloud.
